How payouts work on Apollo

No math symbols, no jargon.

Artist payouts

Artist payouts

When someone subscribes to Apollo, their monthly payment is shared only between the artists they actually listen to. Your earnings don’t come from a global pool.
They come from real people choosing to spend time with your music

Here’s how it works.

Your listeners have a monthly contribution
Each listener pays a monthly subscription.
After platform costs, most of that money is set aside for artists. That amount is fixed.
A listener can never give more than their monthly contribution.

Listening decides how their contribution is shared

  • The more time a listener spends with your music, the more of their contribution is directed to you.
  • Listening briefly counts very little
  • Listening fully counts more
  • Repeated listening shows preference, not extra spending
No one can “overspend” by listening more.

Discovery is welcome
If someone listens once and moves on, you may receive a very small share.
That’s part of discovery — trying new music shouldn’t cost artists nothing. If someone keeps coming back, your share grows.

You are paid for attention, not exposure

Only meaningful listening counts.
  • how many listeners stayed
  • how much support they directed to you
  • how that became your earnings

Payments are transparent
You can always see:
  • what you’ve earned
  • what’s pending
  • what’s been paid
Apollo doesn’t hide the math, and it doesn’t change the rules without saying so.

In short:
A listener’s money is capped.
Their attention decides how it’s shared.
